EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE

  • Registration

When you arrive, you’ll need to show confirmation of your booking at the registration office – it’ll be clearly marked at the entrance to the field – we’ll then provide you with festival wristbands. You can arrive from 5pm on Friday 5th and we’re hoping to be cleared out by 2pm on Sunday 7th July.

  • Camping

You’ll be able to pitch your tent in one of the camping hamlets. The festival’s camping spaces are ample, there’s sufficient room for us all to be comfortable! Campers and vans are also welcome. There’ll also be access to toilets and water for washing.

  • Kids & Family

Family activities at the festival will include:- bedtime campfire story-telling, face-painting, giant bubble-blowing, guided star gazing, fancy dress disco and breadmaking sessions. There’s ample space for you to make your own fun too – feel free to being a frisbee! Under 16’s can attend the fest free-of-charge, so long as they attend with a parent / guardian.

  • Food & Drink

We’re excited to be working alongside our friends at the Great Orme Brewery this year – they’ll be providing a quality range of local ales, as well as a full bar, inside the cosy Ymuno Tipi. Lots of North Wales micro-brewed beery goodness to discover!
We will of course be hosting our traditional Ymuno free breakfasts; later you’ll have lunch and evening food options provided by local food providers, offering tasty treats suitable for all, at reasonable prices.

  • Parking

We’ve set aside the field next to the campsite for free parking, how nice are we?! You won’t be able to take your car beyond the car-park, but you can do as many trips carrying tents etc as you need – the car-park will be accessible at all times. The festival stewards will guide you through the one-way system and do their best to keep you safe and sound.

  • Atmosphere

Ymuno Festival was born out of desire to foster and connect communities far and wide with a positive vibe, good food and drink and, of course, top class fantastic music. Much of what you can expect from a weekend at the festival comes from that foundation. With that in mind, the quantity of tickets available has been intentionally capped to welcome an atmosphere that is really relaxed and friendly.

HISTORY

HISTORY

  • Green Shoots

The Ymuno adventure started in 2009 when two friends decided to open their dry dusty rooftop terrace to a balmy summers evening full of music, food and an assortment of friends. From this small seed of an idea, brave shoots of life emerged an event that blossomed beyond anything the two friends had imagined.

  • Fledgling

For the following two summers, Ymuno lit up North Wales with its iconic tipis, community breakfasts, flowing beer and dancing feet. It kept its cheeky, youthful ways, as its team dared to reach out and bring in amazing artists from across the UK, including Foy Vance, John Smith, Rae Morris and Mouse Outfit. The local press reported on the events with praise and appreciation, while festival-goers travelled from far and wide, many returning in 2011 having found a uniquely special music and community experience.

  • Re-emerging

Back now, new and re-energised for 2013, we are excited to invite you to that same sleepy meadow for a weekend of reconnecting, discovering and participating. We don’t do this for you, you do this with us. That’s how we see it – in previous years you’ve created breakfasts, fires, graffiti boards, printed t-shirts, painted pebbles and much, much more. We hope you’ll join us this year for bread-making, story-telling, for a showcase of North Wales life, as we bring you the very best of our local poets and farmers, songwriters and graffiti artists, artisan coffee brewers and organic bakeries.
